Official rules

"Your WhereIsNow™ Award" deadline extended:

Due to the large amount of participation requests, we decided to extend the "Your WhereIsNow Award" competition. We think that many ideas submitted by the WhereIsNow users deserve more time to be expanded and consolidated, so we resolved to re-schedule the contest deadline to the end of the summer.

All the WhereIsNow users who have sent their prototype before 07/31/2009 can edit and resubmit it (please contact us via email in advance at award@whereisnow.com ).

The new deadline is: 12:00 am GMT September 30th , 2009 (Rome: 01:00 am September 30th , 2009; New Delhi: 05.30 am September 30th , 2009; New York: 07.00 pm September 29th , 2009).

1. Competition AIM

Prossima Isola srl is holding a competition for design and or developing plug-in or applications that engage the functions of WhereIsNow™.

The competition is therefore open to people or groups of creative people who with their ideas are able to improve the potentialities of WhereIsNow™ in any context or sector of application. up

2. Terms of the competition

The competition is open to all nationalities, and aimed at young internet users that must be adults and have reached their 18th birthday at the moment of the registration, according to the Italian law.
Groups of people can participate in the competition but there must be a group leader that will take the responsibility and represent the group.
The participation in the contest is not allowed to any member of the Jury, to their relatives and the employees or collaborators of Prossima Isola srl.

3. The competition judges

The jury will be made up of 3 people with the right to vote, chosen between employees in the company and not.
The majority vote of the judges will be the final decision.
The President of the judges will be one of the members.

4. Prizes

The winner of the competition wins a prize of € 1.000,00.
Prossima Isola srl will also collaborate with the winner for the development of the final product to be launched on the market.
The first 10 runners-up of the competition will win an annual free subscription to the services that are usually paid for of WhereIsNow™ and a nice gadget WhereIsNow™.
Prossima Isola srl also reserves the right to select certain projects of particular interest for the company, even if they are not among the runners-up. Allowing also these people to implement their projects in collaboration with the Prossima Isola srl development team.
By 15 days from the date of the publication of the list of winners of the competition on www.whereisnow.com, Prossima Isola srl promises to contact the award winner to arrange the formalities of the prize giving.

5. Registration and expiry terms

Applying to the "Your WhereIsNow™ Award" can be done through registering at the site www.whereisnow.com .
In case of groups participating in the contest, all team members must activate an account WhereIsNow™. If any one of the team members does not register with WhereIsNow™ it invalidates the competition entry of the group.
To enter to the competition it is necessary to compile the special form online inserting the personal data and the curriculum vitae of the participants or of the team members with authorization for the use of the data according to the Italian art. 13 ds. lgs. 196/2003, the project idea and, eventually, the developed prototypes, declaring to have understood and accepted the rules.
The expiry date for the project presentation is fixed for 12:00 am GMT July 31th , 2009 (Rome: 01:00 am July 31th , 2009; New Delhi: 05.30 am July 31th , 2009; New York: 07.00 pm July 30th , 2009).
Any entries to the competition will not be accepted after this date.

6. The projects

The suggestions asked for by the competition must be written in English and accompanied by:

1. A detailed description of the idea (mandatory) in which must be included the project title and explanations to the reasons behind the idea and the possible users and usefulness of the idea along with the way of use.
2. The competitor's Curriculum Vitae (mandatory) (or competitors in the case of team work) reporting the following disclaimer "I authorize the use of my personal data according to the Italian art. 13 ds. lgs. 196/2003."
The formats admitted for the points 1. and 2. are:
.doc, .ppt, .odt, .odp, .pdf
The files must not contain macros, viruses or other malevolent codes. Otherwise the entry will not be allowed.
3. The prototype of the project (optional): it must contain the file install.txt, the software (.exe, .jar, .war, etc...) and the source code. Such documents must be made up inside of a file of one of the following formats: .tar, .gz, .zip, .rar.

7. Rights of use

Every idea that is entered into the competition belongs exclusively to the participants.
After accepting the rules of the competition the participants will give the permanent free right of use of their ideas to Prossima Isola srl even in the case of them being covered by right of intellectual ownership. Prossima Isola srl, under its own final judgement can modify the ideas for commercialization. Moreover, Prossima Isola srl reserves the right to request the idea’s owner to collaborate and achieve this goal, without being under any obligation to the proposer.
In entering the contest the participants declare that their ideas and source codes are not covered by intellectual ownership of third parties.
The brand name, logo and icons WhereIsNow™ and Prossima Isola srl are registered by Prossima Isola srl. Any use must conform with the Terms Of Service

8. Personal data use

The personal data that is given will be exclusively used by Prossima Isola srl under the information about privacy, accepted when registering to the service WhereIsNow™ and readable on Registration Privacy Policy

9. Award organization office

10. Information and results publication

The final competition results (will show the project title, name, surname and nationality of the participants) will be published on www.whereisnow.com within 1 month from the expiry date with e-mail communication to all entries.
Prossima Isola srl reserves the right to postpone the deadline in the case that the number of the entries is greater than expected, notice of this will be given by 20/04/2009 on www.whereisnow.com .
By entering the competition participants authorize Prossima Isola srl to publish online their names and the project entered into the competition.

11. Change to the rules

Prossima Isola srl can change or modify the present rules for a correct reason, according to the Italian art. 1990 c.cs., and will inform the participants of the competition immediately by the same method of registering request.

12. Judgement and disputes

The original rules were written in Italian and have followed Italian law. The english version is exclusively done for all participants benefit. For any eventual disputes please check the italian version.
For possible disputes the judgement will be held in the Foro of Sassari, Italy [Italian version]
